My Good Morning Injection
When I wake up on the weekends, I am excited go to into the kitchen and make myself my morning green drink injection of chlorophyll, vitamins, minerals, enzymes and antioxidants.
Drinking this cold beverage on an empty stomach makes me feel like Wonder Woman. When I can convince any of my three children to drink a small glass, I feel like I've just won the "Super Mommy" award and I am truly proud of myself.

I bet you're ready to make your first green smoothie. Here's the recipe for one quart (that's the serving size for one day):
RECIPE #1
Easiest Green Smoothie,
Blend well:
- 1/2 head of romaine lettuce
- 2 cups cold water
- one large handful of fresh or frozen strawberries
- 2 fresh or frozen bananas
This will keep in the fridge for up to 3 days- but try to drink it all up on the day you make it. I'm getting you started with the most generally appealing green juice I know.

Powdered Green Smoothie?
When I don't have fresh ingredients at home, I need to cheat. That's when I open up my powered green drink canister and shake up a glass of ice water and a scoop of "ORAC-Energy Greens" by Paradise Herbs & Essentials (I buy it at my local natural food store).
How Do Green Smoothies Work?
Blending green leaves with other natural foods delivers protein, fiber and makes human blood more alkaline.
