Feng Shui, Physics and Energy
What is a Feng Shui Bagua? The feng shui bagua is an eight sided map, which shows you how to activate the energy in each of the nine areas of your space, so that all of the nine areas of your life will be more comfortable and personally fulfilling. I have my own classical feng shui bagua that is easy to use so that we all can enjoy the stress relief benefits from traditional feng shui practices. If you are limited with time or you need the quickest possible stress relief, I have a trick for creating a feng shui space almost instantly. I have been learning and studying this ancient science for many years and it never gets boring. In this part of my website, I explain how to start with simple but effective feng shui decorating; how to do
personal feng shui
(once you have finished with the classical feng shui instructions below); how to create your own personalized feng shui fashion wardrobe; how to use a classroom feng shui bagua;
how to feng shui your car
; and the nine different and very powerful energies that visit your home every year. Find out how to make the good ones stronger and the bad ones weaker, by learning about this annual feng shui called the "Flying Stars". If you want the specifics for the 2010 year...I can also provide you with some
"Year of the Tiger" tips

Let's Start with the Basics Feng Shui is neither superstitious magic nor nonsense rituals. The Chinese have known for thousands of years that it really works, and it affects every aspect of our inner and outer lives. They have discovered that the simple location of a bed affects our marriage, and the position of the desk affects a person’s ability to stay focused and improve their work performance. Feng Shui examines how the energy flow in our living environment, affected by the placement of the things and objects within it, interacts with and influences our personal energy flow. Feng Shui affects our every moment of the day, whether we're aware of it or not. Western individuals and highly intelligent people are recognizing and applying the basic principles of Feng Shui in their lives. The feng shui bagua is the best tool to study. Feng Shui supports the idea that the essence of the five life-giving elements (water, wood, earth, metal, fire) is chi; which means life force. Wind and water are direct carriers of chi, since their flowing quality reflects the essential nature of all living organisms. The words Feng Shui mean wind and water. Feng Shui is the art of designing environments in harmony with the flow of chi. Everything in the universe is composed of two opposite, yet complementary, principles or qualities: yin and yang. Yin symbolizes the passive side of nature, while yang represents the active side, although nothing is 100 percent yin or 100 percent yang. As you can see from this image,
both black and white symbols contain a small amount of their opposing energy. Feng Shui can teach us to live better, so if you want to change something in your life try using the Feng Shui Bagua today.
Tools of the Trade To do real Feng Shui you must have a real compass, like this one:
The other important tool is a feng shui bagua (map) to show you what to put in each of the nine energy locations:
It's OK if your directions and color boxes are rotated one way or the other from how you see them in the feng shui bagua pictured above. Once you feel comfortable using the information in the square feng shui bagua chart, you can switch to the octagon-shaped feng shui bagua:
Now you need either a floor plan of your house, or if you are going to feng shui a room or office, look at the ceiling and draw the shape (usually rectangular) of the room. You probably should measure the room roughly, by walking heel to toe, from one wall to the opposite wall; while counting how many "feet" the length and width of your space is. Once you have this room (or your house floor plan) drawn on paper, divide the entire space into 9 equal squares/rectangles with three rows of 3 squares each (like drawing a grid over the room).
Get Ready, Get Set, Go... Have a pencil handy (if you can make a mark on the wall) or a sticky note with the word North written on it. Stand in the middle of your room (or house) and hold your compass at waist height (remove jewelry and belt- or it will change the compass reading). Turn your body while lining up the tip of the red pointer so it points to the North. Now find a spot on the wall with your eyes, that is exactly North of you. Walk to it and make a mark, or stick the note, on that exact North location. Go back to the center of your space and locate each of the 8 compass directions and mark them on the exact spot on the wall. Don't ever guess! So many of us think we know exactly where the compass directions are, but we need the exact spot in order to get the feng shui benefits we want. Now go back to your room drawing with the grid of 9 boxes. Label each box according to the spot on the wall that is within its boundary. The box in the middle of your space is the center section, that contains health energy.
Mark the Territory Now its time to read your feng shui bagua map. Look at the color, element (earth, fire, etc.) and type of energy (health, wealth, etc.) that belongs within the boundary of each of the nine sections of your space. The Nine Feng Shui Bagua Areas List - North (compass reading from 337.5 to 22.5). Feng Shui Element: Water. Colors: Blue and Black. Life Area: Career & Path in Life.

I like to start by finding/buying things that have the the right color for each area. I get really excited if I can get the right color and the right element (like blue or black glass for the north section) in the same object! For the biggest win, I match the feng shui power number for that area to the number of items themselves. Now, that creates magic! Here are some ideas for objects that will work for each area of your room, helping you to attract more of what you desire. - Knowledge (NE): Bookcase, 8 books, 8 ceramic or stone bookends, or 8 tools for self-development.
- Career (N): 1 career image or 1 glass symbol that represents your career.
- Helpful People/Travel (NW): 6 pictures of your desired helpers, 6 places you wish to visit, in white or gray metal frames; or 6 electronic devices in white or gray metal casing.
- Family (E): 3 family photos in green wood frames, 3 heirlooms, 3 plants, or 3 brown wood objects of a family theme.
- Creativity/Children (W): 7 small metal art supplies, 7 pieces of children's artwork in white metal frames, or 7 small metal toys.
- Wealth (SE): Money in a small wood container, or 4 wood wealth carvings, or 4 small wood objects of anything purple.
- Fame/Reputation (S): 9 candles, 9 lights, 9 awards, 9 healthy plants in red pots, or 9 of anything red, or bright orange.
- Relationships/Love (SW): 2 pink crystals or rocks, 2 round or oval mirrors, 2 of anything pink, 2 pictures of loved ones, or 2 paired objects (like two pink candlesticks or two pink crystals).
As you place the correct colored object within its area, you should state your intention for that part of your life. For example; as I place the blue glass water pitcher in the north area, I might say: "I am successful in my perfect ___ career" (fill in the blank with the name of your perfect career). I could also imagine myself toasting to this success with a blue glass goblet. Continue like this until each area of your space has a matching color, element and symbol of your intention in it. Want it Done Now? If you don't have the time or energy to look for the right objects, or decorating is just not your thing, I have another suggestion for you. You can simply hang an instant feng shui poster on each wall and have your room or office done perfectly in less than 20 minutes. With your extra time, you could even feng shui someone else's space! I created
posters for each of the nine feng shui bagua areas
that are already coded by direction, color, element and intention. All you have to do is find the north wall, or corner, of your space and hang the north poster on that spot. Then continue hanging posters around the room. 15 minutes later, you have a finished feng shuied space. No driving around, no searching for hours online, just one simple click
here
to get to the posters. Sweet stress relief! Final Tip Immediately replace any object that breaks, dies or gets ugly. Otherwise you attract that same quality into your life. Once you have finished feng shuiing your space, relax and enjoy it for a while and see if you and your friends and family behave better or feel more comfortable in this energy-organized room or house.
