Dr. Eva Bogard

Hi! I'm Dr. Eva Bogard. I have been interested in how to deal with stress, since my grad-school days. This was not just because of the incredible demands of going to school full time, while also working full time. My situation also included struggling to make ends meet during my unpaid internship, which intensified financial burdens; and being held at gun point one night along the interstate, when my car broke down after final exams.

During this most stressful period in my life, I wasted many doctor appointments looking for the cause of my physical symptoms, as well as several therapy sessions with a psychologist trying to rid me of panic attacks with lots of talking and medication. One day, I ended up, during vacation-no less, in the southern-most U.S. hospital.

Thank goodness I had my helpful and loving family nearby and a husband who encouraged me to pursue my studies, and provided our new marriage with financial support.

Those days are nothing but a faint memory now. I found many paths to permanent stress relief; although I found them the hard way: through trial and error over a long period of time.

I want to share my stress management strategies with everyone who is going through their hard times now.

My style is to give it to you short and sweet. I myself, prefer to get answers in a quick and practical way, so that's what I'm doing here.

It is not my nature to go into the minutia of every topic. I just want to be clear and effective in my explanations, so that my stressed-out visitors can quickly learn a new way to respond to the chaos going on around them NOW.

Then, when the dust settles, I intend for people to come back and explore the other stress management strategies here, until they feel they have mastered the skill of how to deal with stress.

I am a researcher and life-long learner at heart, that's why I'm also a serious book lover. I read lots of reference, self-help and health books. For fun, I read New Age books. At any given time, I'm researching something. That's what research is: teaching yourself stuff. And that's why I have so many amazon.com links on this website. I hope they will ignite your curiosity, and prove helpful on your life journey, as well.
